A selection of strong contenders who entered our Oxford Street High Street Fashion Week Photography Competition. Melissa Cumberland was the eventual winner.
After frenzied all-night deliberations, the LCF judging panel agreed that Melissa Cumberland should win the Oxford Street High Street Fashion Week Photography Competition. Her three photographs successfully responded to the brief: they summed up Oxford Street shopping, had a distinctive fashion flavour, and shot the familiar sights in a fresh style.
Congratulations to Melissa, who wins two front-row tickets to the 2010 London College of Fashion MA Catwalk Show, as well as a £350 voucher for one of our short courses.
This competition is now closed.
To tie in with Oxford Street High Street Fashion Week (7-11 September 2009), we are launching a special photography competition.

Back in the beginning of June we set up a competition to win 2 exclusive tickets to the BA Catwalk Show 2009.
Entrants had to let us know why they wanted to study at LCF, they could use words and/or images and we wanted something quirky, imaginative and fun.
Katie Haines from Reading was the first winner who wowed us by making a dress for her summer ball!
I have my heart set on going into the fashion industry….I would love the opportunity to make my opinion known, and see what others think of my ideas, its a chance to show individuality and sides of you that otherwise might not be known.
At the end of our school year we have a summer ball, and I saw this as the perfect chance to make something one-off of my own to wear. By doing this I can have a design that no one else has, and learn new skills in the process- excellent!
Our second winner, Vanessa Wong from Fakenham, Norfolk (entry pictured above), showed an understanding that the fashion industry is not just about designing clothes.
Matjaz Tancic, 2nd year BA (Hons) Fashion Photography, was runner-up in the 2009 Google Photography Prize. From 3600 photography students worldwide, Matjaz was selected by public vote to be one of six finalists. His work went on display at the Saatchi Gallery from 24 – 28 June.
Matjaz submitted his underwater series. View his images and display them as your iGoogle theme.
Recent MA Fashion Footwear graduate Weronika Lesniak is one of five finalists in the prestigious 2009 Independent Handbag Designer Awards (IHDA). Weronika’s ‘War of the Banks’ collection has been selected for the ‘Best Shoe in Overall Style and Design’ category; she will now fly to New York for the awards ceremony on June 17th.

‘Nice to see you…’: Bruce Forsyth emerges from his box.
