Collection of the Year Winner Nattaphon Sampataphakdee with his winning collection and Krissi Murison, NME Editor and Frances Corner Head of College

The  show was broadcast live and created a storm in the press with coverage including BBC London News. The live broadcast also opened up a whole new audience for the show with over 4000 people tuned in and contributing their instant reactions via Twitter.com.

The award winners from the night were -

Fashion Textiles was won by Karishma Shahani (from India), the second for Design and Technology was won by Yelena Loguiiko (from Belarus) and the biggest award of the night: Collection of the Year was won by Nattaphon Sampataphakdee (from Thailand) whose tailored menswear collection inspired by French photographer Henri Cartier-Breeson was unanimously selected by the judges.  Speaking after the show Nattaphon was surprised and delighted to win – and couldn’t wait to tell his parents back in Thailand. His winners interview will be availble here in a few days.

This year a fourth award, The Barnett Lawson Trimmings Award for Best Use of Embellishment was presented by Caroline Marx of Barnett Lawson Trimmings to Vilvin Sabu (24) from India for her beautiful Mayan and Aztec inspired ethical collection made of bamboo silks and natural dyes.
